The crispy, flavorful skin paired with tender, juicy meat creates a mouthwatering experience unique to this cafe. If I want to have roasted BBQ pork in Kuching, one of the 1st place I'd think of is Shaorou. For me, they serve in Kuching, one of the nicest shaorou already. The team here is very warm and responsive. Of course, it's a very comfortable place to dine especially on hot days. They're menu offerings are also pretty good so you do have good choices. They actually serve warm pork lard oil to drizzle over your rice with some soy sauce. So very sinful but so very good.

Perfect match of roasted pork with authentic laksa (normally laksa come with prawns). Must try! Overall interior atmosphere comfy, a bit warm if sit nearer to window. Environment is clean, with aircond, spacey.

Been on my list for quite sometimes & finally I’m here- gonna be my fav food place for awhile. Food portion & taste is worth it for the price. I tried the creamy pasta & it’s so good. Highly recommended if you love pasta. Also, our fav is the sambal- spicy but can’t stop eating it. Could be packed during lunch hour. The location of the place also a bit tricky for newcomers but it’s worth finding this hidden gem.

The best fusion dish that we didn’t know we needed, the creamy pasta is definitely the main highlight and star dish of this place. Everything on the plate was delicious and well-balanced with different textures and tastes. The pork itself is flavourful. The shao rou has a very crispy skin and the char shao is tender, juicy and the right amount of sweetness. The black sauce is spicy and has a slight tangy flavour to it, balancing well with the fats from the pork. The pasta is also well seasoned although the pasta noodles were cut short (you cannot swirl it). The pickled cucumbers and carrots are refreshing and give a nice crunch. The teh peng was very sweet yet the bandung was less sweet. Drinks seem inconsistent in balancing out a decent sweetness level. It is not crowded during dinner time on a weekday. The ambience is wonderful with a classic Chinese background music and cooling environment. Overall, I would repeat order on the food but would not expect anything from the drinks section.
